BABYLON LA × TOPS
BABYLON LA is a Los Angeles-based skate and streetwear brand that embodies the DIY spirit and California skate-punk culture. Founded by Lee Spielman and Garrett Stephenson, the fusion of music and fashion is at the brand's core.
The 25AW collection is centered around a design approach that takes inspiration from urban memories and traces. The theme is "Urban Relic." The layers of time that accumulate in cities, such as graffiti carved into walls, peeling paint, and the texture of aged steel and concrete, are reinterpreted and incorporated into the format of clothing. This collection focuses on structural items based on workwear and utility. While actively incorporating practical details and functional materials, the design pursues a minimalist and sophisticated silhouette. By using graphic expressions, switching between different materials, and partially layered structures, the tension and movement of the city are embodied in the look of the clothing.
Through this collection, the designer aimed to combine practicality that city dwellers can naturally incorporate into their daily lives with expressiveness that evokes culture and memories. The BABYLON 25AW collection reaffirms the brand's street-based identity, while also attempting to present the relationship between cities and people in the form of clothing.
