Marking Distance is a New York-based clothing brand founded by actor and model Luka Sabbat and designer James Pierce, and all items are produced in Italy.The brand began as a new creative endeavor with an Instagram account that Luka used to post photos of his life, portraits of famous friends, and diary entries from the Met Gala and clubs in Tokyo. Surrounded by the fashion industry since childhood, the two have established a brand identity that pays homage to traditional fashion houses while incorporating elements of unique American culture through sophisticated tailoring and high-quality products. Their world view, which is strongly influenced by the aesthetics of the subcultures they were influenced by, truly embodies who they are.

The debut collection "Collection 1" emphasizes the importance of personal storytelling, focusing on themes such as "face" and "space" against the backdrop of Luka and James's upbringing and lifestyle. By fusing seemingly disparate subcultures such as crust punk, S&M, and industrial, we reinterpret items that have been commonly worn in different cultural areas, such as engineer boots. Furthermore, by using unique wash processes, textured materials, and heavy-weight leather, we pursue designs that evoke past activities and spaces through tactility. The collection aims to share their experiences through clothing and is a clear expression of the brand's vision.
