Walter Van Beirendonck × JACKET
Walter Van Beirendonck is a Belgian fashion designer born in 1957 and also serves as the head of the fashion department at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He graduated from the school in 1980 and gained international fame as part of a group of designers known as the "Antwerp Six". Walter launched his own brand "W&L.T". (Wild & Lethal Trash) in 1993, and in 2001 established a second line "aestheticterrorists" and his eponymous brand ”Walter Van Beirendonck" .
Walter's designs are experimental and colorful, featuring unique characters and themes. His representative work includes costume design for U2's "PopMart Tour" in 1997, and his influence has been enormous. As an educator, he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he has trained many famous designers such as Raf Simons and Wim Niels.
His collections, presented every year at the Paris Fashion Weeks, play an important role in the fashion world, always offering new perspectives and experimental elements. Walter's brand and educational approach fosters creative and highly skilled designers.
