ASICS
ASICS is a Japanese sporting goods manufacturer known for its high-performance running shoes and sportswear. Founded in 1949 as "Kobashi Kogyo," the company changed its name to "ASICS" in 1977. The name comes from the Latin proverb "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which means "A healthy mind in a healthy body."
The AW25 collection is a challenging season, reinterpreting technical traditions while broadening experimental design. The long-running collaboration with Kiko Kostadinovo epitomizes this season's vision. A common thread running through both the shoes and apparel is a "showing" approach, rather than hiding. Layered materials, exposed stitching and reinforcements, and ample silhouettes create a strong sculptural impact while remaining grounded in functionality. Earth and dark tones are the primary palette, with touches of deep blue and rust-like orange lending a distinct individuality to the subdued atmosphere. Furthermore, the collection's focus on a free, gender-neutral style, while achieving an urban yet utilitarian expression, is distinctive. This season also emphasizes the user's involvement in the design. Variations in color and material, adjustments to details, and interchangeable parts allow for the experience of creating a unique pair of shoes to match your everyday style and mood. Even the apparel is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing the impression to be changed by adjusting the way it is worn and the parts, and is positioned as a "product that evolves together with the user" rather than receiving a finished product. This collaboration, which crosses the boundaries of sports and fashion, performance and design, presents a vision of a new structure and depicts a powerful step towards the style of the future.
