KOZABURO
KOZABURO is a menswear brand founded by Japanese designer Kozaburo Akasaka, which develops a unique style that fuses Eastern spirituality with Western tailoring techniques. After studying philosophy in Tokyo and fashion at Central Saint Martins in London, and gaining experience at Thom Browne in New York, Akasaka became independent in 2017 and launched KOZABURO.
Furthermore, the "PRM" product line, derived from the Sanskrit word "Parama" (transcendence/ultimate), reconstructs vintage clothing and deadstock items using Japanese sashiko embroidery and tailoring, expressing an antithesis to mass consumption and the cycle of clothing.
The 26AW collection "TRANE" is an homage to the melodies and spirit of jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, who in his later years wished to visit Japan with a hope for peace, and to the Zen state of mind. Based on the brand's core philosophy of "Zen" and "martial arts," and centered on creating clothing that supports the wearer's daily life as "dogi" (martial arts uniform), the collection develops details with a background of blues and love. More than mere decoration, these are products that conceal a certain strength within their stillness, allowing the wearer to confront their own inner self. This collection embodies KOZABURO's quiet passion and sense of space, breaking tradition and building a new harmony and beauty.
