KOZABURO
KOZABURO is a menswear brand founded by Japanese designer Kozaburo Akasaka, and offers a unique style that combines Eastern spirituality with Western tailoring techniques. Akasaka studied philosophy in Tokyo, then fashion design at Central Saint Martins in London, and gained experience at Thom Browne in New York before going independent and launching KOZABURO in 2017.
The 26SS collection is a deeper fusion of designer Kozaburo Akasaka's ongoing pursuit of "Eastern spirituality" and "modern edge." The brand's core sculptural silhouettes are presented this season with a suppleness that embraces the body's movements. Based on the traditional construction of clothing, such as martial arts uniforms and workwear, the pieces are elevated to sophisticated fashion through meticulous tailoring techniques. Materials include linen, with a rich texture that evokes the passage of time, and the bold denim that is the brand's signature. Details evocative of punk and subculture influences imbue the collection with a rebellious spirit within a serene appearance. KOZABURO sees clothing not merely as decoration, but as a "dogi" (martial arts uniform) that governs the individual's inner self. This season's collection combines strength and space within a minimalist, stripped-back aesthetic that quietly highlights the wearer's individuality.
